Our Pool Closing Process

- Balance water chemistry to prevent algae and scale during closure
- Add winterizing chemicals designed for long-term protection
- Lower water level to proper winterization height
- Blow out plumbing lines to prevent freeze damage
- Plug all return lines and skimmers
- Remove, clean, and store equipment like ladders and cleaners
- Install pool cover if you have one
Proper closing also includes inspecting your equipment for any issues that should be addressed before spring. If we spot problems with your pool equipment, we can take care of repairs during the off-season when you are not using the pool.
Our Pool Opening Process
When spring arrives and you are ready to swim again, we make pool opening simple. Here is what we do:
- Remove and clean your pool cover
- Remove plugs from return lines and skimmers
- Refill pool to proper operating level
- Reconnect and start up all equipment
- Test and inspect all equipment for proper operation
- Perform complete water chemistry testing
- Shock and balance pool water for immediate use
- Clean and vacuum pool thoroughly
- Run filter system and make final adjustments
After we finish opening your pool, you can start swimming right away in most cases. If your pool has been closed for many months or shows signs of algae, we may recommend waiting 24 hours after treatment. Many customers sign up for our weekly pool cleaning service right after opening to keep their pool perfect all season long.
